The curriculum for our classes is thoughtfully structured into three groups to meet the diverse needs of our students: conversational, reading & writing, and adult classes.
Which class is right for my child?
To help place our students at the appropriate level for success, we offer placement assessments.
Please contact the Language Dean at languagedean@mhcs-nj.org for more information or to schedule an appointment.
The conversation-focused classes introduce students to different tones and develop their speaking and listening skills.
This track is designed for students with little to no prior knowledge of Chinese.
The reading & writing track delves into character recognition, grammar, and composition, fostering literacy and a deeper understanding of the language. Conversational practice is also woven into the curriculum, helping students build confidence in everyday communication.
This track is designed for heritage Chinese students or students with some knowledge of Chinese.
Our adult classes are offered through our Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning (TCML). For more information, check the TCML website.
