Our school offers a variety of cultural contests that allow students to explore and celebrate Chinese heritage in fun and engaging ways. Whether through singing, where they refine pronunciation and musical expression, or drawing, where they bring traditions to life through art, these competitions encourage creativity, learning, and personal growth.
Singing Contest
The Singing Contest helps students improve their pronunciation and tonal accuracy while immersing themselves in Chinese music. By performing traditional and modern songs, participants develop their language skills in a fun and interactive setting. Winners of the intramural competition have the chance to represent our school at the Association of New Jersey Chinese Schools (ANJCS) level, competing with students from over 10 schools across the state. Beyond that, talented singers may advance to the Association of Chinese Schools (ACS) regional competition, which features participants from more than 50 schools across the East Coast.
Celebrate Culture through Creativity
Drawing Contest
The Drawing Contest, held annually, allows students to explore Chinese culture through artistic expression. From capturing the vibrancy of festivals like the Mid-Autumn Festival to illustrating meaningful idioms passed down through generations, this contest encourages creativity while deepening students’ understanding of Chinese heritage.
Some sample contest topics include:
